Privacy Policy
CodeHilite runs entirely in your browser. Your code, settings, and snippets never leave your device. We don't use cookies, trackers, or analytics. There is nothing to collect and nowhere to send it.

1. Who we are
CodeHilite is a free tool created by Anmol Dubey ("we", "us", "our"). The service is available at codehilite.xyz.
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use CodeHilite.
2. What data we collect
We collect no personal data. CodeHilite has no user accounts, no login, no sign-up, and no backend server that processes your requests.
We do not collect, store, or process:
- Names, email addresses, or any identifying information
- IP addresses or device identifiers
- Usage statistics or behavioural data
- Crash reports or error logs
3. Your code & snippets
All code you type or paste into CodeHilite is processed entirely within your browser. It is never transmitted to any server — ours or anyone else's.
Snippets saved within a session are held in memory only and are lost when you close or refresh the page. Nothing is written to your device's permanent storage unless you explicitly download an export file.
💡 Even if someone intercepted your network traffic while using CodeHilite, they would see nothing — because no code-related data ever travels over the network.
4. Third-party services
CodeHilite loads a small number of resources from trusted CDNs. These requests may expose your IP address to the CDN provider as part of normal HTTP operation:
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) — loads Outfit and JetBrains Mono typefaces
- cdnjs.cloudflare.com — loads highlight.js, html2canvas, and jsPDF libraries
We do not control these third parties and encourage you to review their respective privacy policies. If you prefer, you can self-host the fonts and libraries and serve the HTML file locally — all functionality will still work.
5. Cookies & local storage
CodeHilite does not set any cookies. We do not use localStorage, sessionStorage, or any other persistent browser storage mechanism to store your data.
No consent banner is shown because there is genuinely nothing to consent to.
6. Contact form data
If you choose to contact us via the form on the Contact page, your message (including name, email address, and message content) will be submitted to our form processing provider and forwarded to our email inbox.
This data is used solely to respond to your enquiry and is not shared with third parties, used for marketing, or retained beyond what is necessary to reply.
You are never required to contact us — it is entirely optional.
7. Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you submitted a contact form and wish to have that message deleted from our records, contact us and we will do so promptly.
If you are located in the UK or EU, you have rights under the UK GDPR and GDPR respectively. Since we hold no personal data, those rights are satisfied by default. For contact-form data, the same rights apply and can be exercised by emailing us.
8. Changes to this policy
If we ever change how data is handled, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Since the tool collects no data, significant changes are unlikely.
